Classes

My new class schedule is starting to take shape! I will be adding further classes over the coming weeks, so if you can’t see one that works for you, please let me know and I’ll see what I can do!

Class descriptions:

Unless otherwise stated, all classes will have a maximum of 12 participants (venue size permitting)

Beginners:

Run as a 6-week course, providing an all-round introduction to Pilates matwork, focusing on the core concepts of alignment, breathing and centring and introducing participants to a range of basic exercises.

Suitable for those with no or very little previous experience of Pilates, who are looking to improve their core stability and functional movement (strength, stamina, flexibility, balance).

Maximum of 6 participants, to ensure lots of individual attention!

Fundamentals:

Progression class for clients who have completed a 6-week beginner course, or who have some limited experience of Pilates and feel they would benefit from going ‘back to basics’ for a few weeks, before joining an improver class.

Improvers:

A mixed ability class aimed at those with previous Pilates experience, who are looking to improve their technique / develop their abilities.

Intermediates:

A more challenging class, for those who are physically fit, injury-free and have previous Pilates experience and a good level of core strength.

Restorative:

A gentler paced, less demanding class, suitable for older adults, or those living with long-term health issues, or recovering from illness / injury.

Maximum of 6 participants, to allow for a higher level of individual support, as needed.

Bone health:

A class focused on maintaining healthy bones; suitable for those with osteopenia / osteoporosis and anyone looking to improve or maintain their bone density as a preventative measure

Maximum of 8 participants.

Please note - to take part in classes:

  • Any injuries need to be ‘old and cold’

  • I am unable to teach pre- and post-natal women, or anyone with acute lower back pain, or children (under 18 years of age), as these populations require additional specialist qualifications

1:1sessions

1:1 sessions can be a great way to make real progress towards your aspirational goals, or to help you recover from injury / surgery, with sessions tailored to your individual requirements.

They can also be helpful on an ad hoc basis as a supplement to classes, allowing you to focus on any specific issues you may have.

In addition to the session itself, I will also recommend exercises for you to practice at home, to help you get the most out of your 1:1 sessions.

I am currently only able to teach 1:1 sessions at clients’ homes.

Pricing: please contact me for details.

  • You will need to bring your own mat. I would also encourage you to purchase your own head cushion (if needed) - this will be covered in your initial 1:1 or first class. All other equipment will be provided.

You may also wish to bring a water bottle with you, to ensure you stay properly hydrated.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. ‘Sticky socks’ are useful if you have them - otherwise bare feet are fine.
